Every dream begins with a thought.

Imagine yourself successfully accomplishing a future goal…something that you’ve had a longing to achieve—a yearning, an internal search for personal growth. Take a moment now and listen to the soft whisper of your inner voice guiding you.

To make this happen, first ask yourself where you want to be 5 years from now, perhaps 10, or even just 2. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, and check within.

Picture or imagine your future-self having successfully fulfilled your dream. How does it feel knowing you’ve already accomplished this goal? What are you telling yourself and what are others saying to you in recognition?

What is just one step you can take NOW to make this goal happen?

Write a letter to your present-self from your future-self having already accomplished your dream. Before you begin, first imagine how proud you are of having already realized your dreams. What compliments would you hear your inner voice whispering? What would it be telling you about the obstacles you overcame to be to be able to reach your goals? (Remember some of our greatest lessons come through challenges and adversities.) What advice can you give your present-self about pursuing your dream?

Focus on your successes. Make a list of past successes you’ve achieved in your life (i.e., home, leisure, relationships, career…). No matter how small and insignificant you may think they are, those achievements have gotten you to where you are today. You’ll be amazed at all your accomplishments!

Your present thoughts create your future reality. Applaud yourself and continue to focus on your dreams… Hear your inner voice thanking yourself for listening.
