Drumming Your Spirit Home – An Intro to Hypno-Shamanism

Join us for an inspiring presentation by Tess Meissner. She will share unique and powerful ways of connecting to spirit guides and creating positive healing energy through Hypno-Shamanism – a blend of ancient indigenous practices and modern hypnotic techniques. We will explore a little of the history of shamanism, and then collectively create a sacred space as she takes the group on a shamanic drum journey.
Long before the use of modern-day hypnosis, indigenous shamans, medicine men/women, and healers have been using trance and altered states of consciousness in service of healing and guiding their villages. While some cultures have used psychoactive drugs to reach trance states, many more have used the rhythmic sound of rattles, drums, didgeridoos or other instruments, as well as dancing, whirling, or shaking the body to reach altered states. This introduction to hypno-shamanism will explore the similarities and differences between the modern hypnotic perspective and the indigenous shamanic perspective and provide an experience of the shamanic drum journey – a core shamanic practice to support you and your clients.

About Our Presenter
Tess Meissner is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Shamanic Practitioner trained in Peruvian energy medicine practices, core shamanism, and drum washing through the Navajo lineage. With over 15 years of both formal and informal experience accessing states of non-ordinary reality, one of Tess’s greatest passions is supporting seekers in connecting with their internal and transpersonal resources. She provides hypnotherapy, shamanic healing, NLP, and Emotional Freedom Technique services with a focus on Inner Child healing, Shadow Work, trauma healing, life purpose, stress management, and more here in San Diego. Additionally, she is a facilitator at Shakti Rising, a women’s social change and feminine-based leadership organization with a holistic transformational recovery program.
