It’s not what you say to everybody else that determines your life – it’s what you
whisper to yourself every day that has the greatest power.

Have you ever been in search for answers in your life but not sure where to look?

This reminds me of the classic story of the ‘Wizard of Oz. Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man and the Lion were all searching for something that was missing in their lives. They believed that the Wizard of Oz had the answers. They were so excited about their meeting with him, that they fancied up with special coiffures, only to be disappointed in the response they got from the Wizard. He challenged them to battle the Wicked Witch of the West before returning again for the answers they were seeking.

They first had to battle through their own fears and personal struggles before they could finally destroy the Wicked Witch. When they returned to the land of OZ, excited once again to get the answers from the All Mighty Wizard of Oz…the real truth unfolded…The answers they were seeking were always there within themselves. They first had to battle and destroy the “beast” of negativity, self-doubt and limiting beliefs to awaken to their truth–the ability to truly trust and listen to their inner voice of guidance and wisdom.

How many times have you sought out answers from others yet still didn’t find what you were looking for? That’s because the others were only seeing it from the framework of their own personal view point, not yours. Yet, why is it sometimes easier to ignore our inner voice, and perhaps counter it with doubt and or negativity?

Even though the Wizard of Oz turned out to be an ordinary person, he was extraordinary in that he engendered beliefs that changed the course of people’s lives by changing their belief about themselves.

The power of the mind is extraordinary. By reframing the way we view things, through meditation, visualization, guided imagery and even hypnosis, we can learn to truly listen within and then be the change we are looking for in our lives.

Investing in oneself as an extra-ordinary human being creates extraordinary possibilities…
