“The chain of habits and thoughts are generally too small to be felt until they are too strong to be broken.”

~Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)

Then the brain magnetizes dominating thoughts which we hold in our mind. Situations and circumstances that happen in your life are determined by the content of your mind—by the thoughts and mental images you hold on to.

Our subconscious mind reruns the same information over 1,500 times per minute. Therefore, if you have negative thoughts or limiting beliefs, you are reinforcing them which eventually become a habit or behavior that may manifest itself in your life. That’s why we often get stuck along our life’s journey.

Whenever you have a thought or do something that isn’t congruent with your innate sense of happiness, it’s important to stop it immediately. I like to suggest saying: stop, cancel clear, quiet, erase, and/or delete.

Here are some of the phrases people commonly use to describe what they are feeling: “That breaks my heart.” “He’s a pain in my butt.” “That just kills me.” “That tears me up inside.” “I feel like the weight of the world is on my shoulders.” “That gut-wrenching feeling.”

Have you ever heard someone say, “I need a break” when they felt overwhelmed or stressed?

A while back a colleague and I were doing a project together. During our many conversations she would often mention how stressed she was and that she needed a break. Three weeks later she called from the hospital to tell me that she manifested what she needed…she broke her ankle.

This poem by Moe Norman describes it all:

I HAVE A LITTLE ROBOT

I have a little robot that goes around with me,
I tell him what I’m thinking; I tell him what I see.
I tell my little robot all my hopes and fears,
He listens and remembers all my joys and tears.
At first my little robot followed my commands,
But after years of training he’s gotten out of hand.
He doesn’t care what’s right or wrong or what’s false or true,
No matter what I try now, he tells me what to do.

“We form habits and then our habits form us.”

~Ralph Waldo Emerson

Our thoughts are powerful things; they are the building blocks of our experiences. The world that we see is the one that we have created with our thoughts and beliefs which then creates our reality.

Continue to create new positive habits of happiness and joy. You have in your life exactly what you keep telling your mind you want.

“If you believe you can or believe you can’t, you’re right.” ~Henry Ford

When you change your thinking, you change your life.
