… a destitute Greek man once applied for a job as a janitor in a bank in Athens.
When the bank manager asked if he could write, the poor Greek man replied, “Only my name.” That ended the interview right there, and the Greek man was hurriedly escorted out.
The poor Greek man decided to follow his dream instead. He borrowed enough money required to travel to the United States, where he dreamt of making something of himself.
Many years later, an important and fabulously wealthy Greek businessman held a press conference in New York. At the conclusion, an enterprising reporter said, “You have achieved so much, you should write your biography.”
The Greek businessman smiled. “Impossible,” he said. “I cannot write.”
The reporter was astounded and remarked: “Oh my, just think how much further you would have gone if you could write!”
“Nonsense,” replied the wealthy Greek businessman, “If I could write, I’d be a janitor.”
Never allow your happiness to be conditioned by the opinions of others, and never give your power away as others won’t use it right.
What might appear as a disadvantage can become a valuable asset on the path of your dreams and aspirations. Believe in yourself to create your world, and surround yourself with others that believe in you.
Make kindness a habit.
