After losing his parents, Roscoe, a 3-year-old orangutan, was so depressed he wouldn’t eat and didn’t respond to medical treatment. The vets thought he might die from sadness.
The zookeepers found an old, sick dog on the park grounds where the orangutan lived and took it to the animal treatment center. The dog arrived at the same time the orangutan was being treated.
The two lost souls met and have been inseparable ever since. With the dog’s arrival, they both found a new lease on life. Each day, they strive to be the best companions they can be for one another, a testament to the power of friendship and resilience.
They are together 24 hours a day in all their activities. They live in Northern California, where swimming is their favorite pastime, although Roscoe, the orangutan, is a little afraid of the water and needs his friend’s help to swim. Together, they have discovered the joy and laughter in life and the value of friendship.
May your holidays bless you with the abundance of all great things.
