Duchess Kate Middleton reportedly turned to hypnosis to end her morning sickness.
According to a recent article published in the United Kingdom, Duchess Kate Middleton used hypnotherapy to relieve nausea and morning sickness due to her pregnancy.
Kate Middleton was diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum (acute morning sickness), which is a “potentially serious” ailment causing severe vomiting, and a bodily reaction against the intake of food and liquids. This can happen especially during the early stages of pregnancy, although at times it can last for several months.
Kate was also facing another complication claiming to have little to no appetite. Due to the severe morning sickness (even after she was feeling better) the simple sight of food brought about feelings of nausea, causing the Duchess to have difficulty finishing meals.
Hypnosis, once again was used to remove the connection between seeing food and feeling sick, and was used to replace it with cravings for nutritious foods that will benefit her and the baby. Hypnosis diminished the negative thoughts connected with nausea associated with food from the morning sickness, and replacing them with cravings for healthy, nutritious food.
Hypnotherapy has also become a popular method for natural child birth. It is especially helpful for relaxation during labor and delivery which helps reduce the experience of pain. Hypnosis also helps in decreasing the duration of labor and delivery which creates a beautiful birthing experience for both the mom and baby.
Hypnosis and hypnotherapy works for so many things.
Most people are aware that hypnosis for weight loss and smoking cessation are probably the most common usages, although hypnosis can be used to treat a variety of ailments and issues. These include anxiety, fears, chronic pain, sleep issues, stress, worry, study habits, focus, concentration, sports enhancement, motivation, confidence, public speaking, relationship and self-esteem issues…and much more.
Hypnosis was popular among the Royal Family long before Kate. Princess Diana was said to use the technique to increase her confidence with public speaking, and Sarah Ferguson used hypnosis to quit smoking and for weight reduction.
The Motivational Institute of Hypnotherapy (MIOH) teaches classes on hypnosis for pain management and medical issues, and will be offering the training Hypnosis for Childbirth sometime this year. Marla Brucker is a Registered Hypnotic Anesthesia Therapist which allows her to work in the realm of medical hypnosis as well as in hospitals. Be sure to check out upcoming training information on our website.
